Academy Policies
Payments
Please be aware that dancers are studying a progressive syllabus over the course of a full academic year of classes. Families may chose to pay tuition in 2 semester installments (save 5%) or select our convenient payment plan of 10 equal installments. Winter and spring breaks are accounted for in this formula.
The 10 month installment plan tuition is due on the first of each month (September-June); semester tuition is due on September 1st and February 1st. We happily pro-rate students who enroll mid-year.
Special Workshops, 10 Week Sessions and Dance With Me tuition is due in full at the time of enrollment.
Payments can be made by cash, check or credit card.
Kansas Ballet Academy highly encourages enrollment in our automatic payment program. To help you save time and avoid late fees, your credit card will be automatically billed on the 1st of each month or the 1st of each Semester.

All cards are non-transferable to other students and no credits or refunds will be given for unused classes. The Multiple Family Member discount is not applicable to class cards. When a class becomes closed due to full enrollment, Drop-in Class students will not be able to attend the closed class.
Class Withdrawal
Students on the 10 month payment plan may withdraw from class by filling out a Class Withdrawal Form and submitting it before the 1st of the month. Students paying by semester who choose to withdraw from the second semester must fill out a Class Withdrawal Form before February 1st.
There are no tuition refunds or credits except in cases of extreme illness or injury. In these cases students must supply a doctor’s note and class credit will be considered on an individual basis.
Class Concert Participation Fees
Participation in the end of year Class Concert is highly encouraged but is optional for each student. All students in Levels 1-9 are assumed to be participating in the end of year Class Concert unless they complete a Class Concert Opt Out form and submit it to KBA before January 31st.
Class Concert participation fee is $50.00 per dancer (Multiple Family Member discounts apply). The fee is non-refundable. Students may choose to opt out of recital anytime before January 31st and the recital fee will be applied to your final tuition payment of the Academic Year. Students who withdraw from classes mid-year forfeit the Class Concert Participation Fee. Recital costumes will be $65.00 per costume and will be added to your account February 1st.
Families who have signed up for the Automatic Payment program will have Class Concert Participation Fees added to their account and automatically charged with their first tuition payment of the Academic Year. Costume fees will be added and automatically charged on February 1, 2019 unless they complete a Class Concert Opt Out form and submit to KBA by January 31, 2019.
Attendance and Make-up Classes
Attendance is required for ALL classes and necessary for the progression and technical development of each dancer. Students with injuries must continue to attend class to observe and take notes until they are given permission from their doctor to resume study.
All dancers are highly encouraged to make-up any classes missed due to illness. Make-ups may take place at or below the student’s level and must be completed within the same semester.
Punctuality
Being on time for class is essential- not only as an important lesson in self-discipline but also for the safety of each student. Exercises given at the beginning of class carefully warm-up the muscles and prepare the body for the more difficult moves that follow. Students who are more than 10 minutes late will be asked to sit and observe the remainder of class in order to avoid injury.
Schedule Changes
All Kansas Ballet Academy classes are subject to cancellation or changes pending enrollment. Families will be notified as soon as possible about any schedule changes.
